Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively had some family fun under the Great White Way with their kids.
Indeed, the pair and their daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, were on-hand as Jonathan Groff took his final bow in Just in Time on Broadway.
In a video captured inside the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York City on March 29, Ryan and his family won big after he participated in the auction for the hat that Jonathan wore during his final performance as Bobby Darin. Ryan—who was seated in the row in front of Blake with two of their children—secured the hat for $25,000 with the proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS initiative.
After the hat was personally delivered to him by Jonathan, the Deadpool actor—also dad to son Olin, 3, with Blake—playfully placed the hat on his daughter’s head.
The family’s outing came just a day after Blake shared a rare look at her and Ryan’s time in the UK with their kids. In the March 28 photo carousel, the It Ends With Us star shared a snap of one of her children being carried on Ryan’s shoulders.
“So grateful for the best week with my loved ones,” Blake captioned the carousel that led with a sweet selfie of her and Ryan and included pics of them showing PDA while inside of Wrexham’s home stadium and solo mirror selfies. “Thank you @wrexham_afc and all the players and everyone who works at that stadium for the performance of a lifetime. The greatest 10,000 people to share an emotional roller coaster with is in Wrexham.”
Blake—who has been married to Ryan since 2012—also gave her sister Robyn Lively a sweet spotlight adding, “*shout out to everyone (like my sweet sister in slide 10) who thinks someone is taking a photo of their cute outfit, when it’s really a video.”
Though they typically keep their children out of the spotlight, Ryan hasn’t been shy when it comes to sharing insight into his and Blake’s parenting techniques.
“Soft parenting is new, right? I didn't have that,” the 49-year-old said during the Wall Street Journal's CMO Summit in New York City in November. "There's not a lot of yelling or punishments or anything like that. But I'll tell you something. I really don't believe that you have to be screwed up, f--ked to make good stuff.”
Through it all, Ryan quipped that his kids re still finding ways to be in control.
“And I think my kids feel safe,” he added. “Are they still, like, spawns of Satan? Yes. Am I calling myself the Satan this moment? Yes. But they are. They are. They are still kids.”
