Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in style this week. The couple, who first met on The Voice in 2014 and then got married on July 3, 2021, posted a sweet video of their anniversary night out on Monday (July 20), with Stefani, 56, sharing footage of her glammed-up look.
“5 year wedding anniversary date night with my forever @blakeshelton ❤️gx,” Stefani captioned the Instagram post, which was cued to her 2004 single with rapper Slim Thug, “Luxurious.” After the couple posed for a pic together — with Shelton dressed up in a classic tuxedo — Stefani took a couple turns alone in her floor-length, brightly patterned pink sequined Yara Shoemaker dress.
After a brief on-camera nod from the country singer, Stefani cooed, “Oh my God, you’re cute!,” as the camera zoomed in on the intricate beading and detail on the dress and her high-heeled silver Maison Valentino shoes. Stefani was clearly loving the dress-up aspect of the night, speaking directly to camera in the car, explaining, “It’s our five-year anniversary Blake will not let me take any pictures of him.” She was content to show off her outfit while briefly panning over to a grinning Shelton, 50, who, as advertised, did not seem to want as much screen time as the No Doubt singer and solo star in the one-minute video that appeared to have been shot in New York City.
The footage then shifts to nighttime and what appears to be the ride home after their night out, with a looser Shelton gladly taking some screen time to croon the chorus of Montell Jordan’s 1995 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “This Is How We Do It.” Stefani says it was “a really fun five-year anniversary with me and Sheltonator, 11 years together.”
The couple’s actual anniversary happened to coincide with another A-list couple’s wedding day — Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York.
