Netflix revealed its latest YA acquisition, Sunshine Girls, a coming-of-age series from Brat TV, today, setting the premiere window for December 2026.

Starring Alma Marian as Olivia, Isabella Fowler as Taylor and Erin Rose Park as Riley, the show is set in Valley Hills, a “perfectly nice California suburb” unless, like Marian’s Olivia, one has lived in New York City their whole life.

Olivia’s parents’ separation plants her as the new girl at Valley High, where she meets horse girl Taylor and influencer Riley. Freshman year for the unlikely trio of best friends is full of family drama, false starts and first kisses as they each have their time in the sun.

Created and executive produced by Rob Fishman and Nuria Anson, the series is written by Elisabeth Rogge, Mary Lambert and Gavin Laing. Allex Tarr serves as director.

The streamer also unveiled new supernatural series and gothic romance Sid & Zoey, from creator Jon Kasdan, John Shiban, Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Bad Robot, earlier this morning.

These announcements come on the heels of the streamers End of Summer Bash, an event celebrating YA stories at Netflix featuring cast of staple shows like My Life With the Walter Boys and upcoming series Crew Girl, The Sticks, The Body and more.
