Ryan Gosling is stepping out to promote his new Star Wars movie!

The 45-year-old Oscar-nominated actor made an appearance at the 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on Friday (August 14) in Anaheim, Calif.

Ryan was joined on stage by director Shawn Levy as they chatted about their new movie, Star Wars: Starfighter. Ryan and newcomer Flynn Gray lead the latest Star Wars entry, a stand-alone movie that is set after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

During D23, Shawn said that the new movie “embodies themes of hope and family and adventure” that the Star Wars franchise is known for, but “in a timeline never explored,” per THR.

Ryan then described his character, Kade Auberon, as “a guy from the wrong side of the galaxy whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built.”

Star Wars: Starfighter is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2027. Matt Smith is reportedly taking on the villain role, with Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Amy Adams are more taking part.
