A music powerhouse in the making? Looking to capitalize on “Asia’s fast-growing entertainment market,” Alibaba subsidiary Damai International has formally debuted a label and set out to discover global talent.

Damai International just recently announced the expansion, with the label, dubbed Original Creative Artists (ORCA), having already signed Jam Republic member Audrey Lane and singer-songwriter DANY, who shot a related “brand trailer” for the launch.

As described by ORCA, its roster is poised to grow: Until August 3rd, “aspiring performers…who are passionate about the stage and pursuing a career in entertainment” can apply to audition for the label.

In keeping with its official title, the “All My Anecdotes Global Audition,” this process is being spearheaded by ORCA as well as a South Korean agency called All My Anecdotes (AMA).

Though it flew under the stateside media radar upon arriving this past January, AMA was established by former Warner Music Korea exec Kim Jae-yi and K-pop veteran Lee Hae-in (who doubles as the executive producer behind boy group Close Your Eyes).

According to SBS News, AMA, having inked a corresponding deal with SLL’s and YG Entertainment’s Uncore label and agency, now has a hand in the career of Close Your Eyes.

Moving beyond these worthwhile background details, Alibaba’s ORCA and All My Anecdotes have partnered to discover and sign worldwide talent.

“Worldwide” seems an apt descriptor here: Contrasting the stringent eligibility requirements associated with different auditions, the All My Anecdotes Global Audition is open to talent of any age, gender, or nationality, organizers indicated.

Additionally, with the relevant online form available in Korean, English, Mandarin, and Spanish alike, applicants “will be evaluated based on their talent, potential and overall suitability,” ORCA and AMA relayed.

Notably, the companies intend to sign multiple professionals, and there’s “no fixed number of participants to be recruited.” Ultimately, ORCA will “debut a new international music group drawn from the program.”

More immediately, those who make the cut are expected to “receive comprehensive training in performance, music production and stagecraft,” besides benefiting from “a personalized development plan tailored to their individual strengths and career goals.”

While it perhaps goes without saying given Alibaba’s reach, said personalized development plan will leverage high-profile collaborations and opportunities.

The aforementioned Audrey Lane, ORCA emphasized, has thus far collaborated with MEOVV, put out “viral dance content” with Katseye member Megan, and appeared with Chinese singer Liu Yuxin on Sisters Who Make Waves 2026.

Reportedly racking up billions of online views in China, that singing-focused reality show is, to state the obvious, decidedly valuable from the perspective of helping international talent find fans in the quick-growing music market.

“This program represents an important step in our global talent development strategy,” summed up Walter Zheng, Damai International’s president. “We aim to discover promising talent worldwide and provide them with the resources, training and opportunities they need to thrive.

“By leveraging Alibaba’s ecosystem and ORCA’s creative capabilities and extensive experience in developing international artists, we are building a platform that empowers talent to grow and pursue opportunities on the global stage,” he concluded.
