EXCLUSIVE: Desmond Chiam (You, Always), Mary Beth Barone (Overcompensating), Kam Patterson (Saturday Night Live), Stephen Schneider (The Righteous Gemstones), and Lev Gorn (The Americans) have joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ romantic comedy Love Love from writer-director Joey Power. Character details are under wraps.
They join the previously announced leads Isabel May and Tyriq Withers, and cast members Adeline Rudolph, Audra McDonald, and Dylan McDermott.
Written by Power and Daniel Sweren-Becker, Love Love follows a struggling tennis phenom who falls for a charismatic local ball boy at the US Open. Their unlikely romance just might be the spark she needs to make it to the finals.
RK Films’ Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing alongside 3 Arts Entertainment’s Ari Lubet and Jonathan Berry. Power, Withers, May, and Alyssa Altman will executive produce.
Chiam can currently be seen in the film You, Always on Netflix, and recently in theaters in Mortal Kombat II. TV credits include two seasons of With Love for Amazon, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for Marvel/Disney+, and Partner Track for Netflix. He is repped by Gersh, The Rosenzweig Group, Active Artists Management in NZ, and LGNAFC.
Barone’s debut comedy special, Galaxy Brain, premiered on Netflix on July 28. Barone is also widely known for her role as “Grace” in Overcompensating for Prime Video. She is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Patterson is a comedian and actor who is currently a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He made his feature film debut this summer in Netflix’s 72 HOURS, starring alongside Kevin Hart and his SNL co-stars Marcello Hernandez and Ben Marshall. Patterson is represented by Brillstein, WME, and Fox Rothschild.
Schneider is best known for his roles in The Righteous Gemstones and Broad City. He is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis LLP.
Gorn is well known for roles in FX’s The Americans and HBO’s The Wire. He can currently be seen recurring in the Paramount+ series Lioness, Apple TV’s For All Mankind, Citadel created by the Russo Bros for Prime Video, and the Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He is repped by Buchwald.
