Serrana Su-Ling Bliss, James Acaster and Dee Bradley Baker are joining Cynthia Erivo and Ncuti Gatwa in the voice cast of animated musical movie Bad Fairies.

The voice cast additions were announced by director Megan Nicole Dong and co-director Olivier Staphylas at the “Warner Bros. Pictures Animation – A New Chapter” presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Monday.

Based on an original screenplay by Deborah Frances-White, musical comedy Bad Fairies follows a subversive gang of fairies as they shake up their magical world.

UK actress Su-Ling Bliss will voice Fei. She is best known for her performance as Bessie Chapman in Enola Holmes 2, with film credits including Kenneth Branagh’s Oscar-winning Belfast, and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, and West End stage credits including Les Misérables and School of Rock.

Voicing Stickers, UK comedian and actor James Acaster is known for his Netflix stand-up special Repertoire and HBO Max special Hecklers Welcome, the hit food podcast Off Menu with Ed Gamble, and appearances including Taskmaster and the feature film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Baker, who voices Groundbeef, is one of the most prolific voice actors in animation, known for voicing the clone troopers across the Star Wars animated universe, including Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Klaus on American Dad!, Perry the Platypus on Phineas and Ferb, and Appa and Momo on Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Bad Fairies is the first feature released under a first-look deal between Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation first announced in 2023.

The picture will debut theatrically via Warner Bros. Pictures on May 21, 2027. The second film from WBPA and Locksmith Animation is The Lunar Chronicles releasing worldwide on November 3, 2028.

in other previously announced Bad Fairies credits, Tony Award-winning duo Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss (Six: The Musical) are writing the original songs, with Grammy-nominated Isabella “Machine” Summers (Florence + The Machine) composing the score and contributing to the songs. Ian Eisendrath (KPop Demon Hunters) is executive music producer.

The film’s creative team also includes producer Carolyn Soper, editor Sim Evan-Jones, cinematographer James C.J. Williams, character designer Uwe Heidschötter, heads of story Rikke Asbjoern and Chris Garbutt, and production designers Justin Hutchinson-Chatburn and Mike Redman.

Production is currently underway in London, with DNEG Animation serving as digital partner.
