The Summer I Turned Pretty star Sean Kaufman is in talks to star opposite of Matt Damon in an upcoming film!

The actor is one of several set to potentially join the the currently untitled movie from Everything Everywhere All At Once duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, per Deadline.

Sandra Oh is also on board along with Riverdale, Beef, and May December star Charles Melton. Deadline says Universal hasn’t commented on the casting just yet, but Matt will be the film’s lead while the younger ensemble “will have equal footing in the film” with Sean‘s character being the group’s lead.

Details remain scarce, but the Daniels will produce through their company Playgrounds alongside Jonathan Wang. They have an overall deal with Universal.

While the film doesn’t have a title yet, it is listed with a November 19, 2027 release date.

Meanwhile, Matt has a busy summer ahead of him with The Odyssey promo kicking into high gear. The film will be released theatrically and in IMAX on July 17, 2026. Check out the cast list here as it’s full of A-listers!
